Al-Furqan School takes pride in a legacy of educating students about Islam through a variety of programs. Founded in 1986, Al-Furqan School continues to serve the Muslim Community in the Triangle area through its outstanding curriculum. Throughout the website you will gain valuable information about our academics and curriculum, programs and events, student/parent lectures and discussions, which truly sets us apart. You will gain insight into the history of our School, understand our faculty and administrators and our tremendously supportive parent volunteers.

Al-Furqan School Announcements:

Last Day of School: This Sunday, June 2nd 2013 will be the last day of school for the academic year 2012-2013.

End Of Year Assembly:  EOY Assembly will be held this Sunday June 2nd 2013 inshAllah.

Elementary School EOY Assembly will begin at 10:30 am in the First Floor Musallah.

Middle and High School EOY Assembly will begin at 11 am in the Second Floor Musallah.

Light refreshments will be served at 12: 15 pm. All parents are invited to attend. All students are expected to arrive in school by 9:45 am as usual.

Lost and Found: Parents are requested to check for missing items in the school offices located in the 3rd floor main Musallah and red brick building. Items that are not claimed by end of school year will be donated.

High School and Middle School Program:

IAR Youth Director Br. Atif Abdul-Qadeer has offered to teach our students on the first Sunday of the month. Sessions for high school will be held between 10: am-11 am and between 11 am-12 noon for middle school students. Youth Leadership Certification Program:

The Islamic Association of Raleigh has teamed up with New Dawn Institute to provide a two-year Leadership Certification Program for our youth led by our youth director Br Aatif Abdul-Qadeer. The leadership sessions will be held at the Islamic Center of Raleigh on Friday afternoons from 4:00 - 6:30 pm, insha'Allah. The certification program covers over 60 topics across nine different modules and includes hands-on experiential learning, projects, training and assessments. Furthermore, moving forward the Junior Board for the Muslim Youth Committee at IAR will consist of only those who are accepted into the Leadership Certification Program.

*ALL fees from programs held at the Islamic Association of Raleigh (IAR) and the Islamic Center of Morrisville (ICM) go to directly to IAR/ICM and covering costs of the program. Any remaining amount that is left over will stay IAR/ICM.

Al-Furqan School Rules and Procedures

School Timing:

Al-Furqan School starts at 9:45 AM and ends at 1:20 PM. Punctuality is important. Please make sure your child arrives on time and stays until dismissal. As part of the curriculum students are required to stay for Dhuhr prayer.

Tardy Policy:

A tardy slip is issued to the students who arrive after 10 AM. A warning is given to the students who are tardy for more than three times without any excuse.

School Uniform:

Al-Furqan School dress code is designed to encourage islamic modesty. Please make sure your child is dressed up in Al-Furqan School unifrm shirt provided by the school.

Attendance Policy:

Students are expected to attend school every Sunday. If your child is absent from school please send a note upon return or email to Al-Furqan School at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Please be sure to include name, grade, date of absence and reason. The reason for absence is required for consideration as excused absence.

The school sends alert emails to the parents after three or more unexcused absences. Then committee may decide to cancel registeration to give chance to the students who are waitlisted.

Early Student Pickup:

If you plan to pick up your child before the school dismissal at 1:20pm, please go to the office to sign out your child. Please do not pick up your child directly from gym or play ground during lunch hour without signing them out from the office.

Traffic Pattern and Student Safety:

Please follow the directions given by the security personnel while driving through the campus. Traffic in the school campus is one way only. Traffic should enter from Gate 1 on Atwater street and exit from Gate 3 which is at the far end on Ligon street. Please do not use Gate 2 (middle gate) for entry or exit.
Please make sure that children drop off from right hand side.
To avoid the risk involved with street traffic, children should only be dropped off inside the school campus in front of the main building. Children should never be dropped off in the street.
Please do not move the cones to park or enter into reserved areas. Loading unloading is not permissible in the handicapped and reserved parking areas as it leads to traffic jam by Gate 1.
Please do not interrupt the traffic flow within the school campus. Once you have dropped off your children keep moving but do not attempt to cut ahead of the vehicle in front of you. Please wait until the vehicle ahead of you begins to move.
Speed limit is 15 mph inside campus during school hours. Please be cautious while driving as there are chidren and parents walking through the parking lots.
